The publishers of EuroAsia Semiconductor have been providing the European semiconductor community with informed coverage of this very fast moving industry for almost thirty years. With the re-imagining of the product the magazine now looks to the synergies between research and manufacturing occurring between Europa and Asia. This level of experience provides us with a key insight to industry challenges and opportunities. Over the last few years there has been considerable change in the way the global community interacts and in keeping with our ethos of providing the most relevant information, we realised that the magazine needed to evolve with the industry we serve.

One of the most telling changes to the global semiconductor industry is the geographical changes to where manufacturing is performed. The most obvious example has been the growth of the Chinese and Indian industries and markets, which has led to a flurry of investment and company movement. Although this will become a large factor in the future of microelectronic manufacturing, it is not the only one.

These emerging markets coupled with emerging technological opportunities means that European companies must actively seek partners and business in these new arenas to ensure future survival. Conversely the new companies and activities in the Asian area need strong and experienced partners to enable them to reach true potential in a fast moving market. By providing the best technology and business news for these two areas will provide an important but neglected part of the industry.

Most of the focus in the semiconductor world tends to be filtered through the traditional markets but the global industry is changing providing new opportunities for smaller players to enter the field through niche activities or emerging technologies. The strong research and high engineering skills of Europe are perfect partners for the high volume manufacturing capacity of Asia. Developing partnerships now will determine the super companies of the future and EuroAsia semiconductor will be there with the right information at the right time.
